You too can do this Yahoo - Take a heart !!

Let me get straight to what I wanted to post towards this event. I am sure the conglomerate giants do not have the time to review each and every article for their originality but nevertheless they have the responsiblity and humility to accept the mistakes done by their staff and apologize in a timely manner.

This is what happend to me when I came across a picture from Saffron Hut, flicked and inserted into an article by Vikatan.com. Vikatan is a very very famous, Number 1 leading local vernacular that has been around even before Independence.

Now vikatan is not only a online magazine but also a print edition. I immediately sent an email to AvalVikatan telling them that this picture is from Saffron hut's blog and that it has been posted a long time ago.

Not even 24 hours !!! I get an email from the Magazine Editor apologizing for the mistake of their staff and guess what !! Since it was too late to remove it from the print edition, he said they would acknowledge her for the picture.

Dear Ms. Revathi,
We are in receipt of your mail which spoke about the Saffronhut picture. Before going into this issue we wish to thank you for being a reader of Vikatan for a very long time. Vikatan is going stronger and stronger because of the support of the loyal and ardent readers like you.

We fully understand and appreciate your concern about the ‘pickle bottle’ photograph which has appeared in our AVAL VIKATAN. We are sorry to say that this photograph has crept into our AVAL magazine due to oversight.

While we seriously apologize for this mistake we like to assure you that we will take special care to see that mistakes of this sort will never happen in the future.

We also like to inform you that we have also decided to give due credit to the Saffronhut for that photograph. We will carry that in the forthcoming issue of AVAL VIKATAN.

Thank you once again for the interest you have shown for us.Wish you a very happy and prosperous new year.

Magazine Editor.

20 days later I got a mail from Saffron

Revathi,
I spoke to my mom and she told me that Vikatan did attribute the source
for their picture in their next issue!
Thanks a whole bunch for taking up my cause girl :-) !!

cheers!

I take this opportunity to congratulate Vikatan.com for their willingness to assume responsibility, apologizing and giving due credits.

HEY YOU YAHOO !! THIS IS ALL THAT TAKES TO RISE TO THE OCCASSION AND ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY. APOLOGIZING AND GIVING DUE CREDITS. REST YOUR CORPORATE BRAIN AND LEND THE ISSUE A HEART !!!
